Taking Action, 2018 Conference

Over the course of today's conference, we hope to accomplish three primary goals. First, is to provide a space for intergenerational discussion to examine the issues of sustainability through a lens of unity rather than divisiveness. Second is to move the discussion past “green,” advocating for those adversely affected by environmental injustice. Lastly we aim to teach skills and strategies that attendees can take back to their school communities .Our goal for you in the exercise of constructing an action plan as a POD is to reflect on what you learned today and spark conversation about the current measures of sustainability at your school and how you can shape future state of sustainable affairs.

Questions to Think About

  1. Why are these issues important to your community?
  2. In what specifics ways has your school been successful in implementing policies geared towards sustainability?
  3. Why has your school not addressed certain issues?
  4. Did you learn anything in the workshops today that will help you initiate measures in your school to address these issues? If so, who at your school could assist you in doing so?
