The "Blue Wave" Art Installation

We are thrilled to announce that Pratt student and artist Samuel Pressman will be at the conference with his (massive!) installation built from the plastic waste produced in just 24 hours by the Pratt community. This piece is a great example of how to use design and visual impact to help inspire change. You'll also be able to meet the artist, and members of the Pratt LEAP environmental group, during lunch!

Lunchtime activism activities

Take a moment during lunch to:
  • Visit the Last Straw Campaign table for a campaign update and action opportunity
  • Meet the Blue Wave artist, Samuel Pressman, and members of the Pratt LEAP environmental activism group
  • Connect with Shien-Ru Tsao, Founder of Commit to Green, a privately-owned American social enterprise that designs and manufactures compostable packaging. These products are plastic free and made from a resin derived from plant and cornstarch. When placed in the right compost environment they turn into H20, CO2 and Humus providing nutrients to the soil in 180 days. Stop by and discuss ideas around product innovation and sustainability.
  • Pick up helpful info from DSNY about recycling and composting at your school.

Thank you to our planning committee!
